Mur&Miau at the fair

Heh well somehow I never posted our own part at last years Christmas fair so here it goes.
I will be out of country this year at Christmas time but Nina will have some of my stuff at Ofelia market and you should check out her awesome jewelry there also :} So hurry up to Gloria, Helsinki, Finland on December 10th 2011!

This is what I already wrote last year: So I had so busy busy 4 days, Thursday - Sunday in fair at Kaapelitehdas and one photoshoot on Friday also in KlausK/Rake sali..
Miau is great gal to do business with and we share a table there. Also, our collaboration project miaumur is purfect middle path to us!

My Kokko nests, Nina's wings

Nina and our assistant

Nina have loads of there mini dogs, but this one was her friend's for a loan. First we thought that it was SUPER idea to take the dog with us to sell stuff because all of the customers just melt when they see it and bring people to us, but then we realize that after the customers saw the dog, then it was all they saw. So no sales for us. After we ditched the dog, sales went actually better :D
sweet, this cameo fits perfect for her!
super cute huh? My brooch, Nina's business card :D

Samples of our packaging, I think we managed to grind our collaboration package to the perfection.

5 easy steps to fail the midsummer party

Day before:

1. hear that your eyes can be fixed only with extremely painful technique.

2. learn that you are "too artistic" and your contract won't be continued. so no job for you. (still love you guys)

3. go home early and notice that you left your keys there also.

4. shit blood.

5. buy a dildo.

6. ???

7. PROFIT!!

Laserpoint whiteout 2011

So.. We was late. so very late :D almost missed everything. And for what? for my friking makeup. I had a bad makeup day and in the end we didn't even see friends so I guess it would be same as I had wear a plastic bag. and I was sick also so. GREAT night :D

anyhow. one of the largest Finnish electronic music party, and this is my photo set (which is so  condensed, like abovesaid)

the whole set in: http://mur.galleria.fi/kuvat/Events/Laserpoint+whiteout+2011/
also in :  http://alpha.klubitus.org/gallery/2109-whiteout-2011

So the fair are over and the awesome people there I got to know made us laugh and stay awake, thank you all! I have already written a couple of posts about the fair, but here are some pics from the other art professionals:

If you need good handicraft done, don't hesitate to contact these masters!
Ranka woodwork, www.ranka.fi

Jouko Nieminen's work, Master Blacksmith (sounds so awesome!) www.fe.fi

Liisa Saarni, liisa.saarni@welho.com
Liisa makes wonderful leather goods, and uses fish skin. It's great to see something different for a change, and fish skin is wonderful material.

Harri Virtanen, Gilding Master, www.kultaus-kehys.fi
Hehe notice Harri's professional tool (click for larger view)
Gilding is so very interesting (as are all hand made traditions) and I watched his work for a while. I have tried gilding myself, when I was "artist assistant" and I loved it. My ALL TIME favorite part is when you can blow the gold sheet straight and it react lighting fast. I didn't know how to do that but Harri shown it, and makes of course, everything seems easy.
Jari Mattila book binding, www.kirjansitomo-jm.fi
I have wanted to try book binding again, but I haven't had the time to do it. I have huge problem wanting to try everything!

Hehe, the only one I did not take a business card from, but he surely took all of our money. I think we fair workers were his best customers, I noticed everyone had those marvelous sweet chocolates to keep us going, those hand made treats sure were worth it!

Frog prince on a leaf

I wanted to present you this fine jewelry/leather artist: Harri Syrjänen! I saw his leather/metal bags in the fair where we were working also and they were just wonderful!

I immediately fell in love with this cutest ever frog on a leaf and I had to get one.

Harri at his work. AND did you noticed my ARMADILLO cuff, how damn good it looks on him! My sale of the day! I was hoping that that golden cuff would go to someone big guy coz I made it quite large and it really looks so fine, I'm happy.

Lovely fairytale horse picture taken by MiauDesign's Nina Saksman

Harri presenting his works to the audience. See again how freaking well my cuff fits to him and actual gold!

Isn't this sweet! click for closer look

Just lovely work. I felt so tiny watching Harri Syrjänen's working and knowing that he's been working 40 yrs - as most of the people there in the fair. Steel rocking professional! Usually people who knows that much has kinda the feeling that they just aren't in the same universe. But Harri was so nice and supportive, I'm really happy to meet him.
